Emerging Designers Show @ MBFF

I am always excited to see shows featuring emerging designers. I always find the anticipation and love the excitement of seeing new talent emerge from the runway. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival this week in Brisbane does feature an emerging designers show. Some of  these designers are already selling their designs into stores, some have a have a shop front or online store and some are freshly debuting. I thoroughly enjoy seeing new talents development through their collections. This show featured designs from Isabella Longginou, Erin Hassall, AMIRA, Kip and Brand, Begitta, Shakah, Tovah, and Ash to Gold.

See below KL's Favourite Looks from the Emerging Designers Show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival.

TOVAH
My favourite of Miss Tovah's collection. I love a shirt dress and this one has a little added extra, a frill peplum. It has this mix of sport luxe mixed with minimalist.

ASH TO GOLD
Love the citrus yellow crocheted fringed bag.

 ISABELLA LONGGINOU
This is a very flattering dress, fitted around the bust and flicks out over the hips. The fabrication is also divine, looks like luscious gold metallic goodness.

AMIRA
Always get excited when I see a sleeved maxi dress.
Most women hate their arms so a sleeve is always flattering.

KIP & BRAND
Love the nude leather corset style belt from Kip & Brand. I love the fact that is made of lots of skinny belts instead of a block corset belt.

MXM Couture @ MBFF

I was actually blown away by this new discovery of label MXM Couture. I was standing backstage with my dear friend George Wu for his show in The Sunday Mail show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival on Sunday night and then I saw the MXM Couture dresses sitting on a rack. Well, all I can say is my heart fluttered. The fabrication and detailing was just beautiful.

I completely fell in love with one dress in particular, a fitted grey silver coloured gown that had tight ruffle detailing and beading all over the dress. Once my eyes had spied this dress, I could not stop looking at it. The thoughts running through my head was that it was the perfect combination of sexy and feminine through its fitted shape and v-neckline but then it also had the tight ruffle detail all over the dress into a fishtail of masses of ruffles. I would wear this dress in a heartbeat.

Other dresses KL admired.

Easton Pearson @ MBFF

Easton Pearson was almost a trip to the circus with stripes, spots, zig zags, exaggerated flowers, print and topped off with pastel coloured blonde crop bobs. Cute idea but would have been good if the ponytails had been tucked under. Key colours of pink, green, yellow, blue, orange, navy, brown all paired back with a white base. The mix of pattern in some outfits were cute and quirky.

Ginger & Smart @ MBFF

Ginger & Smart is ALL about colour this season but especially the neon and fluros and makes sense when their collection is called Neonature. Staying true to their design goal of creating garments that are both polished yet playful, this Spring Summer collection is simple in shape and design but detailed in its fabrication and bold in its choice of colour.

KL's favourite picks are:
- pink and orange lace pattern embossed short sleeved dress and also the pants in the same fabric
- the metallic and nude silk pants
- cream jacket with metallic trim
