Gail Sorronda: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia

First up Gail Sorronda in an installation style showing on white acrylic square blocks. A mix of black and white combos and with key brights of red, yellow, pink and green.

Headpieces were inspired by floral bouquets made in cotton and leather in bandeau and 1920's inspired caps. Shoes featured were plastic platformed jelly sandals in black or white.

Dylan Cooper: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Australia

Dylan Cooper was AMAZING!
His prints and garment cuts were easy to wear commercial looks that every woman can wear. The collection consisted of softly designed prints that mixed beautifully together with no one print overwhelming the other prints. It was apparent this designer worked hard to do pattern mix outfitting well with no wrong pattern combinations.

The styling was simplistic with strappy patent covered-in heels, quiffed manstyle hairdo, a flicked eyeliner & pink nude lip.

Installation style show was impressive however a catwalk show would have been unreal.

I would like to congratulate Dylan Cooper on his debut collection as this is a new designer on many magazine editors hitlist of upcoming hot emerging talent. This is definitely my new favorite label and I need to find out where he will be stocked.

Pairing a white collared dress shirt, embellished necklace worn under the collar and some cute brogues, this trend has a new update. Bill Cunningham: Sheer Brilliance

Bill Cunningham: New York. Have you seen it?
Bill Cunningham is devoted to getting that perfect shot and his photography celebrates the creative expression fashion offers to an individual.

Iconic Bill Cunningham famous for his street style in New York Times was once a milliner!

Cunningham designed under the label William J throughout the fifties and sixties. He apparently went by this name because his family did not like his chosen profession.

Today 23 of his hats went on sale through vintage seller Katy Kane on 1stdibs.com. She acquired these hats through one of Bill Cunningham's friends whose aunt Mitty was an avid collector of William J hats through the 50's and 60's however had decided to part with the creations.

Cunningham has said in past interviews that he earned enough money to pay the bills but not make a fortune. “Everything I did was a little too exotic — you know, for normal people," Cunningham said in a statement.

Q&A Time.....

What are your dreams/ goals for ADD?
We're overwhelmed by how the Australian market has received Angle Diamond Dot. It's absolutely buoying us on to enter international markets as soon as possible. We have our eyes set on London and are in discussions with a few boutiques. We're also excited to branch our into additional accessory lines over the coming collections... watch this space!

In 3 words describe your own personal style?
Bold, comfortable, eclectic

Answer this sentence, I can't leave the house without...
My Ellie Saab perfume

What has been your most outrageous or expensive fashion purchase to date?
I don't tend to buy expensive designer items, I mix up a lot of Australian designer pieces but I wouldn't say they are outrageous. I bought a vintage Vivienne Westwood one piece at the Portobello Rd markets when I was scraping by in London - that is probably my most extravagant to date.

What is your favourite item in your wardrobe?
My leather jacket. I have many Camilla kaftans from my time at the label and I love to add my jacket for a tomboy, 'touch-chic' spin.

Are you a jeans or dress girl?
I mix it up, if I'm feeling confident I'll be wearing jeans but on my off-days you will always see me in a Camilla maxi... the most comfortable and luxurious piece of clothing you can ever own.

Do you prefer vintage or brand new?
I like to mix new with old. I love to wear my vintage belts and bags with new pieces. I think it adds a personal touch to new trends.

What will you be wearing this winter season?
Skinny jeans with leather jacket and a tee, chunky gold chains and statement rings in gold, green and blue hues.

KL Picks - KL's Favourite Pieces.......

Alannah Hill Red-Riding fantasy adventure into AW12 Campaign

So I am a Alannah Hill fan, her feminine frocks, frou-frou skirts, lace socks and oh-so-cute cardis draw me in like a kid in a candy store.

After picking up the latest catalogue instore, I would taken on a red-riding hood inspired fantasy adventure, each image getting me more and more excited with dreamy embellishment and luxe fabrications. As I went googling for campaign images, I came across Sharman Says blog who is sharing my same excitment over the newest campaign.

This season you will see capets with fur trimming, vintage sheer blousing, leather frilly trimmed gloves, sequins, lace, velvet and even a leather suit! Colours are rich in all shades of red-  berry, cherry, burgandy, wine, mauve, grape, raspberry and baby pink as well as emerald green and rich navy.

I think I may be making a little trip instore stat.
