When I saw this it made me think....

When I saw this image posted on a facebook feed, it really made me stop and think.

I feel people get caught up in trying to be what they're not, trying to dress like who they are inspired by, dressing like a celebrity, getting caught up in the "designer", getting carried away.
Fashion is about expressing your personal style but also your inner self. Wearing fashion for fashion's sake is pointless. Wearing fashion should extend your personality and express the person people see standing in front of them. It is not always worth following the trends, emulating what is on the catwalk if it is not the person you truly are. People can tell you are not comfortable in what you are wearing if you are wearing items that aren't really "you".

I always tell women when I am doing personal styling consults that it is better just amping up a little, the person you are and what you feel comfortable wearing instead of trying to be something else which is not you and you will feel uncomfortable in and more importantly will buy and will not wear!

Fashion is about self expression so therefore embrace the person you are and let the world see YOU, the you that is the true you not a front of makeup and elaborate clothes with you trying to be someone you are not. Whether you're the bohemian boho chic, the girly girl, the laid-back casual, the polished sophisticated, the loud & out-there, the goth, the beach babe, the corporate.
Whoever you are, be true to your own sense of self and you will truly shine!

Sending my love across the world,
xxKL

Fashion Week: Street Style

Here are my favourite street style looks from recent fashion weeks in New York, London and Paris

Anna Pluckett, Designer of Romance was Born.
London Fashion Week

Wearing :
Romance was Born jacket
Mark Fashion dress
Chanel bag

Always love Anna's combination and clash of different ideas. Definitely a lover of her style!

Chen Run, Actress.
Paris Fashion Week
Photographer: Candice Lake

Chen Run, looks simple and sophiticated in this little number. Love the black and white combo. Love the idea of a pop colour clutch however think it would have been better a little bigger and more statement.

Photographer: Candice Lake

Always love my summer leather. I think Taylor did well to pair it back with minimal accessories and keeping the dress and good statement shoes the key to outfit instead of getting too heavy for day wear with accessories.

Olivia Palemo
New York Fashion Week

Olivia even though a bitch to some, I always love her style.
In this outfit the winner is the sheer silk pleated large ruffle detail neckline.

Cool Shoes but are they practical?

These shoes are cool but how exactly do you walk in them??
I'm not bad in heels but are these too creatively and architectually designed that they are impractical to wear?
It is not a pretty sight when girls can't walk in their heels, fall over, stubble, flash up their skirts or take off their shoes and walk barefoot.
Main concern: Balance!?
I think these need a roadtest!

Practical Shoes?? Huh?

Okay so I know as women we will do almost anything to be taller, make our legs look longer, make us feel sexy and feel skinnier. That's why we were heels but unsure whether these actually tick all those boxes.

Akris Spring 2011 Collection

SO What do you think? I dont think they cut it for me. I'm a wedge obsessed lover to give me the height but also the added comfort when I'm standing at events for hours the worst thing is trying to chat when all you can think about is sitting down and taking my ''blastard shoes off"!!

Think these are very conservative in colour and in most aspects of design however have the sever curved downward slope to the toes which to be honest is not why I choose to wear wedges. Think I'll be giving these a miss

Until next time, xxKL

Skinny Bitches BEWARE!

Congrats to Seafolly!!! I love that you are supporting a REAL figure for your Summer 2011 campaign.

The latest Australian beauty to be signed to the iconic swimwear label is Sarah Stephens, whose exotic face and curvy physique (Stephens boasts a D-cup) is a perfect fit for the brand.

"We are delighted to have Sarah on board as one of our 2011 faces," said Seafolly CEO Anthony Halas. "Sarah embodies Seafolly and we are over the moon to be able to showcase the expanding D cup market and how D cups can be stylish, sexy and fashion forward."

Stephens famously walked the runway for Victoria's Secret in 2008 when she was just 18 years old, and has also walked for Issa, Eley Kishimoto and Halston. Locally, she has appeared in campaigns for Sass & Bide, Lisa Ho, Morrissey and Alannah Hill.

Hallelujah to normal size models!!! Thankyou Seafolly for supporting your customers!

Giselle Copies Victoria Secret's Successful Strategy

Don't you think this is a little too similar to a Victoria Secret's show!

Giselle who hasn't walked for Victoria Secrets since '07 is launching her own lingerie line Gisele Bündchen Intimates, a sexy undies range, in conjunction with Brazilian company Hope.

Giselle, YES Victoria Secrets is successful and admired by women and men around the world but honey some originality please!

Celebrate OCRF White Shirt Day!

Witchery has proudly launched its 2011 White Shirt Campaign, with the aim of raising funds and awareness for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF).

This year, the White Shirt Campaign has received pledges of support from well-known ambassadors who have generously agreed to donate their time and energy to raise awareness of ovarian cancer. Supermodel Pania Rose (pictured), celebrity chef Justin North, Olympic swimming legend Michael Klim and other leading celebrity talents will band together and use their star power to help fight for this worthy cause.

The classic collection comprises three shirts for men and seven shirts and a classic tote bag for women, with 100 per cent of the gross proceeds from the sale of the capsule collection going directly to the OCRF.

Get online or instore to get your white shirt!!!

Trend: Tassles

Trend: Tassles

On the catwalks, in designer lookbooks and on celebrities, the new trend is accents of tassles.

Wear as a detail to accessories. Look for it on earrings, necklaces, bags and shoes.

A little accent of a tassle is nice but don't over-do it!
