Interesting first day at fashion week Australia, with the fash pack out in force. What now has happened is outside the shows there's just as much action as on the runway with the street style snappers like paparazzi.
Today opened with the 10year celebration of Camilla & Marc followed by the likes of Aurelio Costerella, Bec & Bridge, Christopher Esber and Alex Perry.
At Camilla & Marc was a mix of masculine and feminine looks. Clean, streamlined looks for day and lace and metallic brocade femininity for evening. Congratulations on 10 years!
At Bec & Bridge we saw a whole new label, steering away for their short skirts and fitted styles to a more sophisticated silhouette with the use of luxe fabric combinations, more relaxed cuts and longer hemlines.
At Alex Perry, some new risks for his aesthetic, with a fitted floor length gown with thigh high splits and lace up thigh high custom Tony Bianco boots worn with his signature feminine frocks. A bit more risqué for Mr Perry.
Aurelio Costerella delivers as always beautiful gowns dying for a red carpet moment. He also had a lot of short party dresses for every girl to find an occasion for an excuse to wear his frocks.
Christopher Esber delivered a collection true to his aesthetics with draping, structured separates, textured fabrication and cuts flattering the female form. His collection showed a colour palette of neutrals in greys, black and white with accents of a beige check, cobalt blue, lemon and soft baby blue.
Round off the day with a design duo that have a reputation for putting on a show, Romance Was Born. It's not just a catwalk show with models strutting the catwalk, it's a performance, a show, a story. Eccentric creative makeup and multi-coloured wigs, a colourful set, the Romance Was Born show was a show stopper always leaving the audience with a clear impression of the designers aesthetic. One thing I can always count on in a Romance Was Born show is a collection that is creative, playful, youthful and colourful.
